Ok. I’m gonna be real here.

It took me 5 days before clicking the “submit” button and sending my blood, sweat and tears to the press to be printed. I was nervous to share something I’d spent weeks and many hours writing and putting together (with help from Design Aglow and their amazing templates!).To share one’s work is such a vulnerable thing. You open yourself to criticism, as well as praise.Moving to a new city and starting life again (with a new baby) gave me a chance to think (a lot) and re-brand my business. I spent many months reflecting on myself, personally and my business; who I AM, who I want to be to my clients, and what their experience with me would look like. Not what I think others want, or what other photographers are offering. But BECKI and what BECKI wants to offer her clients. Although photographer resource blogs are a great source of information and encouragement, I stopped looking. I stopped pinning to Pinterest, and I just focused on two things: reflecting on a strength of mine and learning to communicate and embed that strength into my business.Aw. (Sigh). Why is reflecting so hard for us to do sometimes?

What was born out of these months of quiet was…the relationship. I love to spend my time with you. I love sharing life with others. That is the essence of my experience with you, and this bled into my business.

You, my friend, are the reason I love photography.

Meeting you and your family, spending time with you, and capturing your wonderful self is all part of the experience. You make my life a little richer, a little more fun, and a lot more exciting. 🙂

Thank you to all those in the past who took a chance on me. To those clients and friends who encouraged me. And to those I haven’t met yet, thank you for the consideration of helping you preserve your memories.

And with that said…many “business consultations” with my husband (who’s amazing at branding!) and many cups of coffee to keep myself awake…here is a brief look into one piece of Becki Walker: the 2014 Senior Look Book…Of course, the 2015 senior model search is already beginning, and I have already started on their magazine.

My senior magazine was also featured on Design Aglow‘s website this past week. You can read more HERE on my process of rebranding, setting goals, and how this changed my business this year . A big thank you to them for seeing something in me and creating awesome resources. 🙂
