On we go to Part 2 of Leila and Cody’s engagement session!

I remember a few years ago dreaming with Leila about her wedding day, and now it’s becoming a reality! I’m so happy for my friend who has met the man of dreams! (And she tells him that frequently!) I could not be more happy for both of them and their upcoming wedding in August! For those doing the math…yes, I’ll be the 35 week pregnant woman waddling around with a camera! I’m a real go-getter. No worries.

This short session was shot in the morning – which is becoming a new love for me: morning light. It’s creamy, rather than harsh and orange. I LIKE it!

Last year at this time was tough for Nicole and Cody. They never expected to get the news they received at their ultra sound appointment: their baby girl had congenital diaphragmatic hernia (or CDH), which means that her diaphragm had never closed and her organs were growing up inside her chest cavity. Statistics weren’t great for survival outside of the womb. They were given many options, one of those being to end the pregnancy. With heavy hearts, they left believing that their daughter was a gift from the Lord, for however long they were able to keep her. At one of their future appointments, they were told that Taylor’s heart had stopped beating and on February 16, 2011 Nicole gave birth and held their baby one last time. {Being 6 months pregnant, Taylor’s story has taken on whole new meaning for me.} So many hearts broke for them, cried with them, and wondered how in the world they were still functioning.

Nicole and Cody have been such an inspiration to all who know them! Lots of prayer and the support of friends and family helped them to forever keep Taylor in their hearts, but to also rest in the peace and knowledge that the Lord loves them and grieved with them. And the Lord fulfilled his promise to them!

Their son Dylan was born this afternoon {three days after this session}!

There are many of us who can’t wait to lay eyes on his sweet face! And what a joy it is for this beautiful Mama to hold, squeeze, and kiss her son.

I can’t wait to have a little family of three, like this little fam-bam…I love meeting my sister’s friends in Seattle. It makes me happy to know that so many people love them up there.

If only she’d have that baby! She is currently 6 days over-due and we’re all waiting anxiously for #2…maybe tonight?!!!

But, none the less, I always keep busy. Taking pictures and loving on that niece of mine.

Being a full time teacher and running your own business is a sure disaster for a HUGE crash at some point. Haha.

But I’ve rested! Bare with me…I’m slowly getting back into the groove…

He sang to me “All the other kids with the pumped up kicks better run, better run, faster than my bullet…” Hahahaha!
